THE JMW ARC
MORE HITTING AREA. WITHOUT MAKING THE BLADE LARGER.
The JMW Arc was developed around a simple question: could a table-tennis blade provide more useful hitting area without simply becoming a larger, heavier blade?
The answer became the JMW Arc — now the standard shape across the JMW blade line.
THE GOAL WASN’T A BIGGER BLADE.
A larger head can provide more surface area, but it also tends to add weight and can change balance and handling.
The JMW goal was different: increase useful area in the part of the blade where the ball is most often struck, while keeping the blade itself remarkably close to conventional overall size and weight.
The JMW Arc is the result.
MORE USEFUL AREA. NOT SIMPLY MORE AREA.
PUT THE AREA WHERE IT MATTERS.
The JMW Arc changes where the blade’s available area is placed. Instead of enlarging the entire head, the Arc redistributes area toward the primary hitting zone.
APPROXIMATELY 6% MORE AREA IN THE PRIMARY HITTING ZONE.
The blade’s overall area and weight remain virtually the same as a conventional blade. The geometry changes meaningfully where it matters to the shot, while changing very little overall.
SEE WHERE THE AREA MOVES.
The two outlines are drawn at the same scale. The JMW Arc adds area at the shoulders, where the ball is most often struck, and gives a little back lower down, where it contributes least.
MORE AREA WHERE IT MATTERS. NOT SIMPLY MORE BLADE.
That is the whole idea behind the shape.
JMW Arc compared with a conventional blade.
Solid outline: JMW Arc. Dashed outline: conventional blade.
Green: area shifted into the primary hitting zone. Red: area redistributed elsewhere.
A SMALL OVERALL CHANGE. A MEANINGFUL CHANGE WHERE YOU HIT.
The JMW Arc keeps the overall blade very close to conventional while creating substantially more useful area in the primary hitting zone. That is the tradeoff the shape was designed to solve.
ABOUT 6% MORE PRIMARY HITTING-ZONE AREA. LESS THAN 1% MORE TOTAL HEAD AREA.
That claim is about geometry. How a blade actually plays also depends on its construction — and that is where WOW, WOW Plus and WOW Prime differ.
ONE SHAPE ACROSS THE JMW LINE
WOW, WOW Plus and WOW Prime use the JMW Arc as the standard JMW shape. Each blade has a different construction and playing personality. The shape they share is the Arc.
Conventional shape available by special order.
TRY A JMW DEVELOPMENT BLADE
A limited number of JMW development blades are currently available while testing continues.
Some development samples were produced in earlier Arc and Crest geometries and may differ from the final JMW Arc.
