JMW DEVELOPMENT SAMPLES

PLAY THE DEVELOPMENT BLADES. TELL ME WHAT YOU REALLY THINK.

A limited number of JMW blades produced during development and testing are available at reduced development pricing.

These are fully playable JMW blades. Some represent the current direction of the JMW line; others are earlier constructions or experimental shapes and may differ from the versions ultimately selected for production.

I am offering these blades at reduced prices because I want them to be played, and I hope buyers will share their experience and honest feedback with JMW after spending time with them.

Feedback is appreciated, but there is no obligation to provide a favorable review. I want to know what you really think.

DEVELOPMENT BLADES, NOT FINAL PRODUCTION SPECS

These blades were made during the JMW development process.

Construction, weight, shape and other details may differ from the versions ultimately selected for production.

Every blade listed here is intended to be played. Making them available puts more JMW designs into players’ hands and provides useful real-world feedback as the final line is completed.

WOW WOOD

UNDER EVALUATION

ALL WOOD. SOFT, CONTROLLED AND EASY TO PLAY.

WOW WOOD 1 — LIGHT

Approximate weight: 66–68 g

Shape: JMW Arc

Price: $49

The lighter of the two WOW Wood development versions. An all-wood, control-oriented blade designed around feel, touch and easy handling.

WOW WOOD 2 — HEAVIER / SLIGHTLY FASTER

Approximate weight: 73–75 g

Shape: JMW Arc

Price: $49

A heavier version of the same control-oriented WOW Wood concept, with somewhat more pace while retaining the soft all-wood character.

WOW

THE BLADE THAT STARTED THE JMW PROJECT.

WOW — EARLIER LIGHT DEVELOPMENT VERSION

Approximate weight: 79–81 g

Price: $59

An earlier, lighter WOW development version. Very spin-oriented, highly controllable and built around feel, dwell and connection to the ball.

WOW — CURRENT DEVELOPMENT SAMPLE

Approximate weight: 83–85 g

Shapes available: Conventional, JMW Arc, Crest

Price: $69

The heart of the JMW line: feel, dwell, touch, spin and control, with enough pace for an all-around attacking game.

“You do not need professional-level technique or maximum arm speed to fully activate the blade.”

Professional player evaluation — WOW

WOW PLUS

FASTER. VERY SPINNY. STILL CONNECTED TO THE BALL.

Approximate bare blade weight: 85–89 g

Shapes available: JMW Arc, Crest

Price: $69

WOW Plus takes the JMW feel-and-dwell concept in a faster, more aggressive direction.

The development samples add more speed and a high spin ceiling while preserving touch, dwell and connection to the ball.

WOW PRIME

LINEAR. STABLE. FAST — WITH EXCELLENT DWELL.

Approximate bare blade weight: 88–90 g

Shape: JMW Arc

Price: $69

Prime takes a different architectural approach from the other JMW development blades.

It is a stable, predictable and linear attacking blade with excellent driving, blocking and countering performance, very good spin, and excellent dwell.

It is fast, with a linear, predictable feel that stays connected to the ball rather than feeling like a pure speed blade.

WOW PRO

UNDER EVALUATION

Approximate bare blade weight: 88–90 g

Shapes available: JMW Arc, Crest

Price: $69

A limba-faced, high-performance development blade designed to combine offensive speed and spin with unusually good dwell and connection.

WOW Pro remains under evaluation and is not yet confirmed as part of the final production line.

Production blades will be sold bare. These WOW Plus, WOW Prime and WOW Pro development samples have a non-sticky rubber mounted: 3.8 mm total thickness, 2.1 mm sponge, 41–42° Chinese hardness, red big-hole sponge.

ABOUT THE DEVELOPMENT SHAPES

Several of the development shapes used across these samples relate to the JMW Arc, an outline update that redistributes area within the blade face while keeping overall size and weight virtually unchanged. Some development samples were produced in earlier Arc and Crest geometries and may differ from the final JMW Arc.

Conventional refers to a standard, traditional blade outline, used here as a familiar reference point alongside the JMW Arc.

Crest is an earlier experimental shape used on some development samples. It is not expected to become a standard production shape.

Some earlier Arc and Crest development samples have a slightly reduced lower body, which results in a slightly higher hand position than on the final JMW Arc.

Not every JMW Arc sample listed here matches the area increase of the final JMW Arc. For exact details on the final shape, see the JMW Arc page.

EARLIER JMW DEVELOPMENT SHAPES

Some development samples were produced in earlier Arc and Crest geometries. These shapes are shown so players can identify the samples being offered and may differ from the final JMW Arc.
